Chinese Zodiac

The Chinese Zodiac is the twelve animals that match the twelve earthly branches in Chinese folk culture. The twelve signs of the Chinese Zodiac include twelve animals, including the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. Each animal has unique symbolism and legendary stories.

The culture of the Chinese zodiac has many manifestations in daily life. For example, folk art, handicrafts, and yearly customs. These works are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also hold people’s aspirations for a better life.

Chinese Traditional Skills

China is the home of porcelain. Jingdezhen porcelain is famous all over the world, and blue and white porcelain is a typical representative of it. Paper-cutting has a long history and various styles. In the north, paper-cutting is often based on animals and people, with exaggerated shapes. In the south, paper-cutting is delicate and exquisite, with a wide range of subjects, including myths and stories.

Chinese Traditional Festivals

Chinese New Year is the most important traditional festival in China. During Chinese New Year, families put up spring scrolls, clean their houses, and have reunion dinners together. The Lantern Festival marks a celebration of reunion, prayers, and the solving of riddles. On the other hand, the Dragon Boat Festival is a festival that honors the harvest and invokes prayers for good health, with traditions including the consumption of zongzi and dragon boat races.
